Building a system model for something as personal and abstract as thought requires introspection and honest self-assessment, not pure science. Ask yourself: what level of positive effect does consuming social media have on the rate of healthy, desirable thoughts? Compare that to exercise or reading. A naive model might suggest 24 hours of exercise is optimal, but the real point is not precision. By becoming aware of the action-reaction loops, by asking where you put your time and what stocks you are trying to build, you are doing the critical exercise of thinking about your thinking. Over time you refine these systems and learn more about yourself. The alternative is thinking in an environment that is haphazard and undesigned, which almost certainly means missed opportunity.
