Format Your Resume for a Mobile Screen
Many recruiters review resumes on their phones, so a resume designed mainly for print can be hard to read on a screen. The page points to advice from executive resume writer Donna Svei on how to make a resume work on a tiny phone and suggests checking the resume on your own phone before sending it out.
Reading notes#
- Aim for two- or three-line blocks of text, and never go beyond four lines.
- Use six points of space between bullet points and a full space between resume sections and jobs.
- Avoid tiny fonts; the page recommends at least 11-point Calibri.
- Take inspiration from flat design when thinking about how the page looks on a phone.
- Review the resume on your phone before sending it out.
